The Miami Heat Injury Report
Miami Heat injury report: Miami has dealt with a number of injuries all season, and despite fighting through the winter months to comply with COVID-19 health and safety protocols, the Heat still have quite a few injured players heading into the postseason. Most are listed as day-to-day or questionable.
Jimmy Butler out
The Miami Heat will be without their best player tonight when they play the Atlanta Hawks in Game 5. Butler is dealing with inflammation in his knee and is out for the remainder of the game. The injury has been plaguing the All-Star for months. Butler has missed 25 games this season and is expected to miss at least a few more.
Butler is the leading scorer for the Heat. In the regular season, he averaged 21.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game. But he has also been their most consistent player in the playoffs, averaging 28.1 points, 4.9 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. The Heat are hoping Jimmy Butler can continue his stellar season.
Robert Williams III questionable
The Miami Heat’s injury report has one questionable player: Robert Williams III. Williams has been out of the lineup for the first three games of the series due to persistent soreness in his left knee. In his place, Grant Williams should get some additional minutes. However, Williams may not be ready to return until Saturday’s Game 4.
Williams was out of the starting lineup for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday. He was previously listed as questionable for Game 3. The Boston Celtics have not ruled him out, but he has remained out of the lineup due to soreness in his left knee. This is a setback, as Williams missed the first two games of the series due to an injury to the meniscus in his knee.
Victor Oladipo out
Victor Oladipo is still out for the Miami Heat. The guard hasn’t played in the regular season since undergoing quad tendon surgery in May. His latest rehab assignment was with the Heat’s G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. While there’s no clear timetable for Oladipo’s return, the Heat are hopeful he’ll be able to play in the upcoming game against the Rockets.
Oladipo has had two long recoveries after rupturing the quad tendon in his right knee. The first surgery occurred in January and the second took place in May 2021. Since then, he has only made his season debut once, in March 2018. The second surgery was due to tendinosis, but it was not a symptom of the first injury. Erik Spoelstra attributed the tendon’s condition to the fact that the other leg was putting more pressure on the tendon.
Jayson Tatum out
The Miami Heat and Boston Celtics have each issued injury reports for the fourth game of the Eastern Conference Finals. It’s safe to say that the injuries aren’t good. In Game 3, the Celtics were down two games to one, but it didn’t take long before Jayson Tatum was out of the game. He suffered a shoulder injury and was taken to the locker room for treatment. It took a few minutes for him to return from the floor, but he was able to return and finish the game.
The Miami Heat had a 20-point lead in the second half, but the Boston Celtics had two key players out with injuries. Jimmy Butler was out of the game with a knee inflamation, but the team expects him to be ready to play in Game 4. Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, and Robert Williams are all on the mend, but they won’t be playing in Game 5 because of the injuries.
